A Basque-style Summer Bash with Guest Chef Peyton Barrell of Gourmand + Wines from De Maison Selections & Haw River Wine Merchant. Close out summer, Basque-style, in a true celebration of the coast's lively pintxo culture. This chapter of our Pintxo Party series leans all the way into the txikiteo (minus the bar hop): standing room, txakolina, cocktail style, bar-top bites, porrones of cider, and passed nibbles to graze your way through the night.
It's a French-Basque mashup with friend Chef Peyton Barrell of Gourmand returning for his second Pintxo Party after a memorable 2023 holiday collab, and Phil Broom of De Maison Selections is popping in to spotlight the iconic Getariako Txakolina wines of Ameztoi. Peyton is teaming up with Cúrate Executive Chef Ángel Palacios for a menu that melds French cooking with Basque technique, inspired by the very birthplace of pintxo culture. WNC's own Mike Tiano of Haw River and Wine Director Jessica Salyer will be pouring alongside Phil, a Basque wine connoisseur, with an unforgettable menu of Ameztoi wine pairings.
